The Lovell’s – A Danforth Chapel Wedding

If you’ve been tuning in for a while, you caught Meghan and Matt’s Blue Star Art Complex Engagement session back in March. They were a blast to shoot then, and learning little bits about their love made me so excited for their August wedding. As August started to creep closer, the excitement magnified tenfold, but so did the nerves. So much so that I did a mock shoot, just to shake out any last minute jitters. Suffice to say, I was incredibly prepared and wound up tight like a spring.

It also didn’t help that we had a twelve hour drive to get to Kansas before I even got to start shooting. As usual, road-tripping with the husband was fun and helped to ease the spring ever so slightly. When we finally arrived and pulled into The Oread, I knew I was more than ready for this adventure.

Between getting ready and all the hustle and bustle that goes into a wedding, I was surprised to find us at the big show later Friday evening. Before Meghan walked down the aisle, she shouted ‘Hi Matt!’ through the bathroom door to make sure he knew she was there. Not only did he know, but the whole chapel did, too! Their ceremony was intimate and personal, only those that were close friends and family viewing their forever joining. So, they all knew when Meghan shouted for her husband to be, she was expressing excitement, joy, and that insatiable rush of nerves that hits right before you walk down the aisle. Needless to say, everyone got to see Matt have his own moment of nerves when he first saw Meghan in her dress walking towards their forever.

Meghan & Matt make a beautiful couple who share a love many people notice and are glad to be a part of. They smile wide for the other, laugh at jokes tossed carelessly into the air, and simply enjoy being in the other’s presence. Shooting a wedding is stressful, a friend’s even more so, but these two made it so easy. After their sweetly spoken words to one another, Josh and I pulled them away for a little alone time where we took picture after picture of the happy couple. Then, we danced the night away at a reception people only dream of. Breakfast was on the menu, so you know it was amazing!

If you haven’t explored KU’s campus, you should get on it immediately. The pictures you’re about to see will only spark that interest even more!

I’m insanely grateful to the Lovell’s for trusting me with their big day and can’t wait to see where life takes them next! To the happy couple, marriage is fun and exciting, so enjoy it as much and as thoroughly as you can. Thanks for taking a chance on us over here at Boshnasty Photos!
