If you’ve been following with me for a while, you know that I’m a jack of all trades when it comes to my photography. Action shots, team photography, weddings, engagements… if you can point a camera at it, I’ll try it at least once! I am kind of bummed to say that this is the first time I’ll be debuting Women’s Basketball here on the blog, though. I was an avid player as a kid, and I enjoy the sport thoroughly. Now, I’m finally putting my two loves together and posting my adventures with UTSA Women’s Basketball! I’m excited for you guys to see these.

Since I hadn’t spent much time with these ladies, I was excited to learn who they are as players through the camera. Yup, you read that right. When I’m shooting action sports, I’m spending just as much time getting the perfect shot as I am figuring out how these people move. As a kinesiologist, I’m prone to watch people walk and how they move. Biomechanics is my specialty, and I take that to heart. As a photographer, learning how someone moves makes the next shot easier to capture, it makes it that much more clear as to where they might be next.

I enjoyed every single second of shooting these girls. They are hard working and bust their butt whenever they’re on the court. They play for each other, something Coach Holt has spent a lot of time instilling in them. It’s obvious. It’s so obvious that these girls step on the court for each other. Women’s basketball is so much different than men’s basketball, but it doesn’t show up that much through the camera, which I’m actually kind of excited about.

I hope you enjoy seeing these hard working ladies doing their thing as much as I did editing and shooting them. You can feel the intensity and see the way they all click, so keep a special lookout.

There you have it! The UTSA Women’s Basketball team has finally debuted on the blog! I’m excited to be putting these ladies up on the blog more often and can’t wait to see how they progress throughout the season.
