UTSA v UAB

Happiest of Thursday’s, everyone! It’s game day in The Modica household & that’s always a treat. After getting my week of schoolwork out of the way, I finally got to get behind the computer and play with some pictures. Here’s hoping your day was just as successful as mine ended up being!

Today’s gallery is UTSA’s home battle against UAB. In the past few years, I’ve gotten to see the fellas play against this team in the convo a bunch of times & every time – it’s a pretty epic adventure. This time around was no exception, either. This season in the convo has been pretty rowdy, which always makes watching the game from the sidelines that much more epic. The band is full of the best heckling and the student section is filled with so so so many people. It’s what college is about, really.

Despite the box score not being what we wanted it to be in the end, the fellas put their all out on the court. I think I type that every single time I talk about these guys, but it’s hard not to – it’s pretty apparent. No matter the score, these guys are always fun to watch – they always put on a show and keep the crowd in it until the very end.

As you go through these, get pumped for the first game of bonus play scheduled to start at 6PM CST! Don’t miss out on the last few match ups of the season, y’all. It’s going to come down to the finish.

There you have it! The fellas are about to hit the court, so make sure you tune in where you can. The guys come back home on Sunday at 2PM – be there!

We’re quickly heading into the warm weather and that comes with blue bonnets and gorgeous flowers! We’re already in the midst of planning our bluebonnet sessions and want to make sure everyone has access to them. So – here we are. All of our bluebonnet sessions are $95, yet packed full of beauty, fun, and lots of excitement. The location we like has so great access to light – & we’re so excited.

We’re also trying to get ahead of senior photos! If you’re a 2020 graduate and want to celebrate your accomplishment for a relatively good price – you’re in the right place! Until 3/17 we’re offering our senior sessions for $135! This is the cheapest these will be until literal days before graduates are set to walk – so don’t miss out!

Lastly, we’re so happy you guys are here. This is the most fun and enjoyment I’ve been able to get out of my adult life and it’s all because of the people that support us in this adventure. It’s amazing to get to do this day in and day out, so thank you for booking sessions, checking out our photos, and simply liking what we do.

Until the next time, friends! Keep on adventuring…

UTSA MBB v Southern Mississippi

Happy Thursday, everyone! This week has been a little hectic, but I finally got some time today to really sit down and get some good photo work done. It feels pretty fantastic to get lost in the work & was completely what I needed. Hope you’re enjoying your day just as much!

Today’s blog post goes hand in hand with UTSA MBB’s game day tonight against North Texas. I like to get up previous conference home games when the fellas are off on the road, so that’s what we’ve got today. The game against Souther Miss was just as fun to edit as it was to shoot. The guys played so fantastically – & it shows in all of the images.

For being the second home conference game of the season, the crowd was pretty intense – & made the game play that much better. There are so many shots where you can see the crowds reaction and it’s just as exciting as the actual play in the shot. Besides getting to experience the atmosphere at each of the games, one of the best bits of the job is getting to see the game from a really excellent perspective.

As you go through these, enjoy the continued intensity that can be seen throughout the gallery of images. It’s dang cool to see the team play well and get to capture all of the good moments. Here’s hoping you enjoy, too!

There you have it! Tune in tonight to see these guys take on North Texas. It’s going to be a great game, so make sure you check back. If you’re interested in action shots like this, shoot us a message – sports season is my favorite season!

We’re currently making the most of San Antonio’s beautiful cool weather and enjoying all types of sessions. As Valentine’s Day creeps closer, we’re stoked to be offering a couple different discounted session types. These would be the perfect gift for your loved ones. What’s better than a moment in time captured through an image? Grab 15% off a full length session, or book an in-studio session for $95! Josh and I spent a bunch of time last night getting the studio set-up just right!

As always, thank you for supporting our small little love child. We’ve put so much time and effort into creating what we’re able to bring to the table for everyone and we’re able to do that because of the people that book sessions, look at our photos, or simply read our posts. Thank you, thank you!

Until the next time, friends! Keep on adventuring…

UTSA Men’s Basketball v Texas State!

Happy Thursday, everyone! It’s insane to think that we’re in a completely new year and decade. There were a lot of great things in the last ten years, but I’m so looking forward to the next ten! Here’s hoping the year ended in the best of ways and the new decade started with a bang.

UTSA Men’s Basketball starts their conference play today, so it was only appropriate to pump out one of the many games I’ve shot during the pre-season. I’ve had a great time following the team around, documenting all of the their play thus far and can’t wait to see where conference play takes them. As a photographer, it’s the greatest to get to work on my craft and enjoy all of the perks of being court side watching my very favorite game.

This year, the fellas headed down to Texas State to play the I-35 rivalry game that’s much awaited each season. When we walked into the arena, it seemed like there were more UTSA fans than anything else. In the end, the over abundant presence of all my fellow Roadrunners could be heard loud and proud.

As you go through these, enjoy the tenacity that each guy played with. As the game progressed, the guys built up their confidence and it’s plain to see not only how well they move the ball, but how much fun they’re having while doing it. These were a blast to shoot, so I hope you enjoy them just as much!

There you have it! The fellas take on Florida Atlantic at 6PM CST. Make sure you keep track of their progress and cheer on our Roadrunners!

To bring in the New Year, we’re skipping all the way to Valentine’s Day! Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been scouting around to put together a gorgeous Kissing Booth backdrop. Which means we’re hosting Valentine’s Day mini sessions! These will be fast and quick and filled with Valentine’s goodness and lots of kisses. You can snag a spot now for only $75.

On that note, we’re looking for a couple models to come shoot with us to advertise our beautiful backdrop. If you’re interested in shooting with us, fill in the contact form below and grab the spots while you can! We’ll give you a couple of shots in exchange for your time.

Lastly, all of our full length sessions are 20% off! We’re celebrating our entry into the 20’s and can’t wait to work with you guys throughout the year and into the next ten years!

We’re so stoked to be able to continue this business into the next decade and couldn’t do it without you guys! We’re so insanely grateful for the support of each and every person that books a session, looks at our posts, or simply glances at one of our pictures. It’s the greatest gift we could possibly ask for. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Until the next time, friends! Keep on adventuring…

UTSA Basketball v. Wiley College

Happiest of hump days, everyone! The Christmas holiday is quickly coming & that means the end of the semester with it. My day job is stupidly busy, which is lots of fun but kind of hectic, too. I’m so very stoked to have my photography to cut into the stress and bring me all the fun!

I figured a nice home win yesterday was a good reason to drop a game gallery. It’s always nice to go back and revisit each of the games after the fact. Initially, I go through and pick out the photos that catch my eye – but when I go back and actually take time to edit the gallery, I go through each shot one by one. In a way, it’s like watching the game all over again. It’s cool to see what memorable plays look like slowed down, or how each of the guys change and progress from game to game.

If you haven’t started coming to the games yet – that’s okay! There’s still a ton of basketball left to play and watch. As the season progresses, each of the games will be more and more intense – which is always a blast to watch. Either way, you can check back here and get all the updates you need.

As you go through these, I hope you enjoy how excited the guys are when they’re playing well. You can see the joy of playing the game on their faces – on top of the intensity, of course. Not only do they look happy playing, but they won a game in their orange jerseys!

* Fellas, if you’d like a copy of any of these photos, shoot me a message! They’ll look much better in their original format. *

There you have it! If you’re up for a little road trip, the fellas are taking on Texas State on Saturday. It’s always a good game and the atmosphere in their gym is always exciting!

We’re currently still offering our Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals – which means you can grab a full length session for $135 and a mini session for $60. & since it’s engagement seasons, we’re offering $250 off of all our wedding/marriage packages. These are our lowest prices of the year & the best time to grab a spot for a session. I don’t have too much space left and I’m loving every single second of these holiday sessions.

Since I’m such a fan of UTSA and all of the greatness it has afforded me, I’m putting our senior session prices down to $75 until 12/12. It’s a lot of fun to celebrate with all the new alum as they prepare to walk the stage!

Please capitalize on these prices while you can – we’ll be increasing our prices in the new year!

If you’re interested in any of these sessions, use the contact form below. I’m starting to put the end of the year together and I can’t wait to meet with all of you guys!

As always, thank you! We could not do this thing without you guys and there’s not enough words of thanks I could say to express how important you guys really are. We’re so stoked for this journey and can’t wait to see where it takes us!

Until the next time, friends! Keep on adventuring…

Holly Miller – Volleyball Action Portraits!

Happiest of Wednesday’s, guys! It has been a crazy week already, and it’s getting more Rowdy because you guys are getting 3 posts in a row! I’ve been on an editing frenzy and I’m pretty excited about it. It’s so nice to be able to get into my creative feels and just go with it.

Today’s blog is all about Ms. Holly Miller. I’ve known Holly since she was a little girl, her older sister Aundrea is one of my oldest friends. So, when we met to do these pictures, I was dumbfounded by how much she’s grown and how beautiful of a person she’s actually become. It doesn’t hurt that she’s insanely athletic, either.

During this session, I got to combine my love of action photography with some portraiture. I’m always trying to hone in on my craft, so getting to shoot these was an absolute blast. We did some posed action, portraits, and even some movement shots. There’s nothing like putting sports and art together, y’all. Holly is so photogenic and went with everything I threw at her – so these photos are pretty spectacular in that aspect!

As you go through these, I hope you enjoy the dynamic of the photos. Holly’s beauty contrasts the intensity of the sport very nicely – so I hope you enjoy!

There you have it! Holly, thank you for being the perfect subject. I had a blast shooting and editing these, and they turned out beautifully. Please come at me for more shoots like this! If you’re an athlete and want some portraits done, let’s have an adventure!

We’re currently booking our full length fall sessions. These are a blast and we’ve got a couple of really gorgeous locations that have been working so nicely for these sessions. It’s such an exciting time that these sessions are at a really great price! Until 11/1, we’ll be booking sessions at this same price – so don’t miss out!

Looking ahead, we’re also booking our Grinch Christmas sessions. Josh has been kind enough to agree to dress up like the Grinch and interact with you guys with his best “Grinchisms”. These will be mini sessions at least one day of the weekend every weekend in November/December. If you’re interested in more details or want to book a session, use the contact form below to send a message. I’m in the process of working on our previews, so you’ll know what our setup is going to look like within the next few days!

Lastly, we want to thank you guys! We wouldn’t be anywhere near the place we’re at without the continual support of people who book us, view our photos, or simply catch our journey whenever they can. Without everyone, I’d be so far away from this dream of mine – so thank you!

Until the next time, friends! Keep on adventuring…

UTSA MBB – 9/22

Happiest of Tuesday’s, everyone! I’m finally getting to catch up on some of my edits, so you guys get two posts in less than two days. I always try and filter myself, but sometimes – I’ve got to get my work up, I have to share it! Here’s hoping you guys are feeling as productive as I have over the passed couple of days.

Today’s blog post is all about my pals on UTSA Men’s Basketball. Little by little, we’re slowly inching to the start of the season. It’s like we’ve been waiting with our breaths held in the Modica household. It’s slow and steady, but once season is upon us, it’s a whirlwind. It’s nice to be wrapped up in it, though. I’ve gotten so many sneak peeks of what these guys are capable of that I’m so very excited to see what the season holds!

These photos are from one of the earliest practices of the “season”. Which means there’s still a lot of dynamic stuff going on – ball handling, heavy duty scrimmages, and simple play running. These are the types of practices where I can really work on my craft. There are so many different things happening, it’s hard to keep up!

As you go through these, pay special attention to the tenacity these guys are putting into their sport. It’s crazy to see so many people in one place focused on the same exact thing. Either way, catch out the action below!

** Fellas, if you want these photos – reach out! I’d love to send you an actual copy instead of seeing you guys share a screenshot. **

There you have it! Keep checking back for more UTSA Men’s Basketball updates. I’ve got a couple more galleries in the works as we speak! If you’re interested in action shots for your team or athlete, contact us! We’d love to work with as many teams/athletes as possible.

We’re currently booking our Halloween/Fall themed mini sessions. I posted a few examples of the backdrop in the last post on the blog, so if you’re interested and wander what these photos might look like, click on the link here.

These Halloween/Fall themed mini sessions are taking place on October 13th and 27th between 10-2. When you book, we’ll let you know where we’re going to set up on each of the dates. Each session is thirty minutes in length and comes with all the best edits from our time together. We’re finishing off this package with a printed 5×7 of your choice! That means you’re getting pretty close to a full sessions worth of things at a discounted rate.

These sessions can be used for costume reveals, fall goodness, or simply because you like the scarecrow! We’re so excited to get these dates out to you guys, we’re not passing up an adventure with anyone! These are first come first serve, so once the date and time have been booked, I’ll cross them out and they will no longer be available. To make sure you get the date and time you’d like, we’re asking for a small deposit before the date and the rest when you come for your session!

These are the times you can choose from on either of the dates (10/13 & 10/27):

10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 1:00, 1:30

Use the contact form below or send us a message to grab your time and date! If these times get filled up quickly, I may look into adding another date with more times, so be on the lookout for that!

We’re still booking our full fall sessions as well, so please don’t hesitate to reach out for those sessions, either. We’ve been loving our adventures around Cibolo Nature Center and can’t wait for the ones to come!

As always, thank you for hanging with us. We’re so very grateful for how things are going and how many people read along, comment, and book with us. It’s truly amazing!

Until the next time, friends! Keep on adventuring…

Pre-season UTSA MBB

Happy Tuesday, everyone! My weekend was jam packed with lots of UTSA Athletic excellence, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I got to shoot my most favorite sport, too – and I’m so excited to share it with you guys!

Today’s blog post is all about UTSA MBB. We are so close to the start of the season, I can literally feel it. In my house, basketball season means long nights, lots of photos taken, and a husband that’s gone for most of the week every other week. It’s a crazy time, but there’s something about it that’s magical, too. I appreciate the sport so much and it’s cool to have my toe in it in whatever way that I can.

Saturday morning, the team had a couple recruits in, so they collected to go through a little bit of practice and then scrimmage at the end. These are the best kinds of practices for me as a photographer – I get some good portrait like shots, then spend the rest of the time wandering around the sideline trying to find the best angle for all of the greatness that’s happening on the court. With so many different guys on the court, its been a blast to capture each of them in their own specific element.

As you go through these, I hope you enjoy how healthy and in-shape all of these guys look. We’re about 50 days away from our first game and these dudes have been busting butt. You can tell in this gallery that they’re starting to really jive with each other and get their court feet under them. I’m so ready for this season – so if you’re anything like me, here are some images to tide you over!

*Fellas – if you’d like these, shoot me a message! I’ll get you an original copy instead of a screenshot.

There you have it! We’re so close and these fellas are working hard for it. I’m stoked for the season to start. Until then, come out and support all the other UTSA sports. There’s a rumor going that Park West this weekend is turning into Jurassic Park – so don’t miss out!

I’ve had a bunch of people book their fall sessions already, and I’m so pleased! These sessions are so quick and easy and you end up with lots of great candid photos. We’re currently offering 30 minute sessions with all the best edits for $140. We’ve got a backdrop that would be beautiful to work with, but we’re also open to heading to a location of your choice. I want y’all to make the most of this cool fall opportunity! Use the contact form at the bottom of this post to save your spot.

On that note, we’re also going to start booking our Christmas Card sessions. These are our normal hour session price, but are fully styled and are quick to be turned around! We’ve got a great backdrop with a gorgeous tree and all the Christmas trimmings. I’d like to start shooting these at the end of October/early November – so don’t wait to book! With basketball season quickly creeping up, my schedule is going to be very full very quickly.

If you book a Fall/Christmas session before 9/30 – we’ll give you 10% off!

As usual, I’m so very thankful for each and every person who contributes to our little business. I’m so far from where I started and I only have you guys to thank. Whether you book a session or just tag along for these blog posts – we’re grateful for you and your support. Here’s to health and happiness!

Until the next time, friends! Keep on adventuring…

UTSA V-BALL v. Houston

Happiest of Thursday’s, everyone! We are so close to the weekend, you can almost taste it. It’s going to be a jam packed one for me, between a few portrait sessions and all the UTSA Athletics goodness happening. I can’t wait and I know Josh is looking forward to all the running around we’ll be doing.

I’m putting something a little new on the blog today! It’s definitely not weird to see action shots, but I got to incorporate a whole new sport into my repertoire. Its been a bit since I played the actual sport, yet I was reminded last week just how much I really love volleyball. It was cool to be down on the floor so close to all the action – watching the hitters do their thing was most excellent!

I took in two of the three home games last week and both were hard fought battles. It’s crazy to think that one or two rallies is the difference between a win and a loss. I appreciated watching all the different positions and learning how best to capture the shot. As the season progresses, I’m pretty stoked to move around and see what my range for the sport really is.

I hope you enjoy my take on the intense action of UTSA Volleyball. Between the sprawling an immense air each of these ladies managed to achieve, there’s lots of action to go around!
